Porcelain Garden

  • Editorial

In 2025, after five years of renovation, The Frick Collection reopens in New York City. To honor the museum’s history, Ukrainian-born artist Vladimir Kanevsky was invited to display his work—a series of porcelain flower sculptures—throughout the galleries. These sculptures pay tribute to the museum’s very first public opening in 1935, when Helen Clay Frick, daughter of the founder, adorned the spaces with fresh flowers.

A book was created to showcase Kanevsky’s sculptures in detail, capturing the remarkable nuances of his incredibly intricate work. It’s almost unbelievable that a human being could replicate nature with such astonishing precision.
